The Association has been founded 5 year ago and it has been made of small group of people, but with great enthusiasm and love towards wine and job of Sommelier.
Today we have over 80 members and even more friends, associates and partners.
The basic goal of the Association is education and expansion of wine culture, to the people that would like to be in this line of work professionally, but also to other lovers and admirers of wine.
The main idea and the aspiration behind foundation of the Association is to promote wine and wine culture and to bring it closer to wider audience. The group of people made of professionals, but also of lovers and admirers gathered together with the joint idea of wine culture above all, are the milestone of this Association. With the foundation of Association of Sommeliers in Serbia the new trend has began and with it a new approach to wine. Such a novelty by it self brings a difficult and thorny path of self-identification, and with this issue the Association of Sommeliers had a lot of difficulties. Restaurants, Hotels and other dining facilities five years ago did not have, or had just a little sympathy for the Association of Sommeliers. It was necessary to explain to, above all, owners and managers the necessity and the economical justification for their work and engagement. With hard work and positive energy in later years this trend has positively changed.
Association of Sommeliers of Serbia SERSA has over 80 active members.
Today there is a need in almost all major cities in Serbia and all dining facilities of higher categories for this wonderful profession.

The Association of Sommeliers of Serbia provides various educational programs, for professionals Sommeliers but also for wine lovers. This programs provides  besides workshops and lectures in Restaurants and Hotels tours to the best wineries in all regions of Serbia. Since foundation of the  Association of Sommeliers over 180 future Sommeliers have attended the professional program and today some of them are working outside our Country and they are passing their knowledge and experience. Professional members of SERSA have all gone thought professional educational program, and the best of them are a part of Management Board and Executive Board of the Association of Sommeliers of Serbia. The Association organizes, besides other educational work shops and lectures, evenings of  “Companionship with Wine” that are tailored to the desire of the group that is attending the work shop. This programs put the emphasize on presenting to the wine lovers the various wines made of various types of grapes from various regions and matching Wine and Food.
In the educational programs the lectures from the Association are also passing their experience from “Personality programs” and “Bar and Bar Management”.
